Find any 417- phone number in Missouri

The 417 area code is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) that serves much of southwest Missouri, including the cities of Springfield, Joplin, and Branson. This area code was established in 1947 and was initially created as a split off from the 314 area code, which served most of Missouri at the time. The area code was subdivided in 1995 as a result of the region’s population growth, with phones in Joplin and the counties of Barry and Lawrence getting the 6.58 area code.

The NANP is an international telephone numbering plan that organizes telephone numbers and country codes into distinct subdivisions. Regional areas codes, such as 417, are allocated on an as-needed basis, with new area codes being created as necessary to meet the growing demand for new phone numbers. All area codes in the NANP are assigned by the North American Numbering Plan Administrator and are 3-digit codes.
