Find any 418- phone number in Quebec

The 418 area code is an area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) used to assign telephone numbers in the Canadian province of Quebec. The area code system was implemented in 1947, with calls placed to a number within the same NANP area code not requiring the area code to be dialed. At the time, the 418 area code was assigned to the eastern parts of Quebec, north of the Saint-Lawrence river, covering the eastern coast until the Gaspé Peninsula.

The area code has been split four times. In 1957, the 514 area code was created for the western parts of the province. In 1998, the northern parts of 418 were moved to the 819 area code. In 2006, the 819 area code was reduced in size and the 418 area code regained its original northern territory. In 2015, the entire 418 region was split into four divisions, 418 and 581. The 418 region now includes the Capitale-Nationale, Chaudière-Appalaches and eastern Montérégie regions, while the 581 area covers the Gaspé Peninsula, Îles-de-la Madeleine, and northern regions of Montérégie.
