Find any 548- phone number in Ontario

The 548 area code is one of the regional telephone area codes within the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). The NANP was created by AT&T in 1947 to manage telephone dialling in North America. It divides the continent into a series of geographical regions, and each region is assigned a three digit area code, any frequency of which can start with the digits 2 to 9.

The 548 area code includes most of Eastern Ontario, specifically including the cities of Belleville, Brockville, Cornwall and Kingston. It was created from a split of area code 613 in 2019, the 613 code having served all of Eastern Ontario since 1947. The growth of mobile communications in the province has necessitated a second area code to be implemented in order to allow new developments to connect to the network. Other area codes that serve Ontario include 416, 647, and 437.
