Find any 720- phone number in Colorado

The 720 area code encompasses the city of Denver and the surrounding suburbs and areas in the US state of Colorado. It was established on June 1, 1998 as part of a unified numbering plan for the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). NANP is a comprehensive system for organizing area codes and telephone numbers in regions across the United States and in portions of other countries. Each geographic area is assigned a 3-digit area code, followed by a prefix and the seven-digit phone number. The prefix and last four digits of the number are used to distinguish each exchange within an area code.

The 720 area code was created from the split from the original 303 area code in Colorado. The cities in the area code 720 include Aurora, Englewood, Golden and Lakewood. The demand for new phone numbers in the Denver metropolitan area created the need to split the 303 area code into two parts. Subscriber lines in the 303 area code stopped being activated and new numbers in the 720 area code were gradually assigned.
