Find any 757- phone number in Virginia
The 757 area code is the telephone area code assigned to the U.S. state of Virginia, specifically the Hampton Roads area at the southeastern corner of the state. It was created in 1996 as a way of providing additional service to Hampton Roads and its suburbs, as the area had quickly outgrown the 804 area code, which covers Richmond and most of the rest of Virginia.
The area code is part of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP), which (among other things) assigns three-digit numeric codes to identify geographic areas within the United States, Canada and some Caribbean countries. The number 757 was chosen for Virginia's second area code so as to have a distinct area code for the southeastern corner of the state, which has been growing at a relatively faster rate than other parts of the state. NANP area codes are subject to periodic review and modification to ensure that they remain sufficiently unique and allow for future growth.
