Find any 812- phone number in Indiana

The 812 area code is a telephone numbering plan covering the state of Indiana. It was created in 1947 from the original 217 area code when Indiana's population growth created a need for more telephone numbers. It currently serves 91 of Indiana's 92 counties, with the exception of Clark in the Southern part of the state. The 812 area code also contains some small parts of both Kentucky and Illinois, so it is considered a "Portable" area code that stretches across State lines.

The North American Numbering Plan divides North America into geographic regions consisting of area codes with up to three digits, followed by an individual phone number. This plan is what allows for seamless communication between numbers in different areas and even across countries. The boundaries of the 812 area code have changed over the years in order to accommodate population growth and technology, and continued growth may require additional changes to the plan in the future.
