Find any 845- phone number in New York
The 845 area code is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). It is comprised of parts of New York, including Newtown, Cornwall, Yorktown, Wallkill, Middletown, Mahopac, Dingman, Pine Bush, and Newburgh. The 845 area code was created in 2000 and is only used for landline telephones in this area. It is an overlay with the 914 area code to provide additional phone number solutions. Customers within the 845 area code still have to dial the full 10-digit number for local calls, even if they are dialing the same area code.
The North American Numbering Plan is an integrated system by which telephone numbers are formatted and recognized across the different areas of the United States and Canada. It includes area codes, prefixes, and hundreds of thousands of unique central office codes. All of these are used to create unique telephone numbers per area code and city, allowing individuals to call each other across the region. NANP area codes are divided into three-digit codes, known as the NPA or area code. There are now 855 NPA codes in use in the United States, Canada, and certain Caribbean countries.
