Find any 865- phone number in Tennessee

The 865 area code is currently used throughout the state of Tennessee to designate a certain geographic area for telecommunications. This area code, along with all other North American area codes, is managed by the North American Numbering Plan, otherwise known as NANP. The NANP is responsible for ensuring that all calls within North America remain organized and easy to dial.

The 865 area code was first introduced in 1999, replacing the 423 area code. It was put in place to help keep up with the growing population in Tennessee. This area code is used to serve Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Sweetwater, and other cities located in the eastern half of Tennessee. Any calls within 865’s jurisdiction must include the full 10 digit phone number whenever being dialed. Though this area code primarily covers the eastern half of the state, it also encompasses portions of some smaller counties in the west. There are currently no plans to introduce a new area code in the region.
