Find any 929- phone number in New York

The 929 area code is part of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) and is one of the original area codes assigned to New York City in 1947. It serves parts of the five boroughs of New York City, as well as a few neighboring towns and villages in the counties of Queens, Richmond, and Nassau.

The 929 area code was created in the spring of 2011 in a geographic split of the 718 area code and, initially, 718 phone numbers were no longer able to be assigned to new customers. Instead, 646 began to take its place. NANP is a three-digit area code and seven-digit telephone exchange system used in the United States and twenty other countries. To keep up with growing population and businesses, supply and demand of telephone numbers is often monitored and new area codes are added when the need arises. The system is managed by the North American Numbering Plan Administrator (NANPA).
