Find any 934- phone number in New York

The 934 area code is the newest area code to be created in New York State. It was introduced in 2019 as an overlay of the existing 845 area code, and serves the region extending from Poughkeepsie down to Newburgh along the Hudson River Valley. The new 934 area code responds to the need for additional phone numbers in the area, and is part of the North American Numbering Plan, a system that assigns regional phone number prefixes to both landlines and mobile phones.

The North American Numbering Plan allocates unique area codes to each geographic region of the United States and Canada. Each three-digit code is divided into multiple NPA-NXX combinations that designate specific exchanges, which are used in turn to assign individual phone numbers for use. The 934 area code is split into 11 different exchanges, providing over 20,000 number combinations for the local residents and businesses in the 845/934 region. The system is designed to be able to accommodate large and increasing demand for telephone numbers by introducing new area codes and exchanges as needed.
