Find any 236- phone number in Alaska

The 236 area code is a telephone numbering plan assigned to the maritime province of British Columbia, Canada. It is part of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP). Established in 1995, it was the ninth area code to be assigned in British Columbia. It serves an area including the cities of Vancouver, Surrey, Burnaby, Richmond, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Delta.

In the NANP, each geographical region is assigned a unique three-digit area code, of which there are now ten in Canada. The 236 area code is used for landline and mobile phone numbers, and its area of service is bounded by portions of the 604, 250 and 778 codes. In order to make phone calls within the236 area code, the caller must always dial 10 digits, which includes the area code, with the exception of local calls. Local calls in these areas require just seven digits, while national and international calls require eleven digits. The NANP's ten-digit dialing system helps ensure that phone numbers remain unique in order to better route calls.
